We employ only people with technical training and experience of making programmes for broadcast.
It’s highly likely your editor will have just cut a pop video or your cameraman has spent the week shooting for Blue Peter or the X Factor. With that type of experience, we can guarantee a stylish, energetic and entertaining final film.
the films
If you’ve got an idea for a film, get in touch, we’d love to collaborate with you. Or maybe you’d like to commission one of these…
Wedding films
Long gone are the days when couples only want photos of their special day. Wedding films do so much more than photos, they tell the story of your wedding. These are the most requested films in our portfolio.
Leaving Videos
Leaving videos make wonderful and original leaving presents. We’ll come to your office, covertly set up a camera and lights in a meeting room and record your goodbye messages. We’ll incorporate any embarrassing photos you may have, add music, effects and edit it all together. You can screen the film as part of the leaving presentation before giving your colleague the DVD.
Birthday and Anniversary Parties
Let us film your birthday or anniversary party and you’ll have a memento to enjoy for years to come. As well as capturing the main event, we’ll film preparations and interviews. We also make films to be screened at the party…friends may want to make a “10 Things We Love About John” style documentary for a surprise 50th birthday party or even a mini documentary of his life so far.
Sweet Sixteen Parties
Be the star of your very own television programme. Let us film the tears, tantrums and tiaras that go into throwing the sweet sixteen party of your dreams. Guaranteed to be a favourite DVD to watch every Christmas!
Baby Films
Mark the birth of your baby by documenting the experience with a film. We’ll film interviews with the expectant family, capture dad changing the nappy for the first time and see how your other children (or pets!) react to your new addition. Perfect for sending to friends and relatives abroad or for a 18th birthday present for your baby!
Hen and Stag Parties
If you’re planning an experience for your hen or stag party, we can film and edit it for you. Complete with interviews from the hens and stags, you can even excerpt the more suitable clips at your wedding reception! We can also secretly film segments and quiz questions with the groom-to-be as a surprise game for the hen at her party.
Family Reunions
Let us make a film for your family reunion and create a lasting family heirloom. We’ll film your party, interview members of your family and incorporate your home video footage, as well as photos, in the final film.
Bar Mitzvahs
We’ll follow the preparations as well as filming the day itself, capturing this milestone for posterity. Complete with interviews and “diary room” style interviews from the star of the show.
Corporate Team Building Days
We’ll film and edit a documentary based around your corporate team building day. Depending on the activity you choose, we can find a unique and orginal way to make your film. For example, if you take your team to a karaoke bar then we can make your very own X Factor programme (you can choose who the Simon Cowell of your office is!).
Come Dine With Me Parties
Following the success of the programme, thousands of friends are throwing their own “Come Dine With Me” parties. We suspect they aren’t as fun without the cameras there, so we’ll provide the cameras, help direct the experience and present you with a fully edited programme, complete with sarcastic voiceover!
We’ll follow the preparations as well as filming the day itself, capturing this milestone for posterity. Complete with interviews and “diary room” style interviews from the star of the show.
Filming
We film on broadcast digital cameras. All the cameramen and women shooting for Make My Day Films work in broadcast television and have extensive industry credits.
Interviews
Interviews are the backbone to any documentary, plain and simple: they tell the story. The pictures only deliver half the story. With interviews, you have a record of the anecdotes and details that otherwise get forgotten. Make My Day Films conducts documentary interviews, in a quiet set up location, with a professional studio lighting kit, for all of its packages and all of its films. The interviews are conducted by a TV producer/director with experience of interviewing people (from nervous first timers to celebrities with too much to say), so you’ll be in great hands. It will feel just like a friendly chat and the results will form the storyline of your film.
Editing
Make My Day Films edits all of its films in a professional editing facility in central London as opposed to most other videographers who edit at home on desktop editing systems. This enables them to cut costs, but there is no substitute to having your film crafted by a professional, skilled editor. The facility that we use edits live music programming and documentaries on celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney, music festivals and awards shows including the NME Awards.
Music
Most of Make My Day Films employees, including its founder, have worked at MTV, the music channel, for a number of years. As a result, Make My Day Films will sound far better than its competitors. Countless videographies have pictures cut to an entire song, say 3 minutes long. You will never see this in television documentaries and in our opinion it looks terrible! Make My Day Films prides itself on the fact that it knows how to soundtrack documentaries.
We’re thinking about a wedding film but weddings are expensive enough already. do we really need a film?
The way we see it is, you’re spending all this money on your wedding and the day will go by so quickly, you won’t remember most of it! Commissioning a Make My Day Film means you will get to enjoy it all and see everything you missed when it’s all over! We don’t just point a camera at your event, we create a narrative so you have your own story recorded forever. Let us capture the stories- the drama, the emotion, the jokes...and we'll get some great closeups on all the little things you're agonising over now like centrepieces and the food! Check out our “testimonials” section.
I don’t want a one-size-fits-all wedding film.
You won’t get one. Forget about cheesy slo mo, effects and unimaginative, clichéd music that you hate. We’ll be using the same music used in TV documentaries and the film will be about you and your celebration. If you’re funny, that will come across. If you’re sentimental, that will drive the style too.
Which famous people have you met and worked with?
Madonna, Robert Pattinson, Justin Timberlake, Jack Black, Timbaland, 50 Cent, Joan Collins, Blur, Simon Cowell, Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Foo Fighters, Anastacia, Travis, Britney Spears, Interpol, Antonia Banderas, Avril Lavigne, Basil Brush, Robbie Williams, Djibril Cisse, Bob Geldoff, U2, Thom Yorke, Travis, Estelle, Kanye West, Pink, Kylie Minogue, Peter Stringfellow, Kid Rock, Kaiser Chiefs, Limp Bizkit, Polyphonic Spree, Mike Skinner, Simon Webb, Nicole Scherzinger (Pussy Cat Dolls), Dolly Rockers, Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Nelly Furtado, Metallica, Mel C, Mel B, Daniel Powter, Natasha Bedingfield, Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, Lenny Kravitz, The Corrs, Westlife, Joshua Jackson, Stereophonics, Beck, Moloko, NSYNC, Daniel Powter, Moby, Sugababes, Craig David, Feeder, S Club 7, Tom Daley, Alex James, Tamara Mellon.

Make My Day Films not only provide you with footage of your wedding day, but they will tell your love story in a documentary style, through interviews with friends and family.
Edited together with cleverly noticed moments of the special day you might have missed and perfectly selected music, you will be guaranteed a frank, natural and warm telling of your story which you will treasure for years to come!”

Wedding TV Spokesperson
I got the film on Sunday and then we watched it when we got home and I've watched it about ten times since then - we both really love it!
Thank you so much - it's exactly what we wanted - light hearted but with the nice weddingy bits in too, the balance was just right. I really, really love the bit before the wedding - it really made us both laugh our heads off! I didn't remember so many funny things happening so it was lovely to see them all together like that. And the very ending made us both really laugh - love it!
I'm so happy that we've got it - lovely to have to remember but also it reminded us both of things that happened on the day that we either had forgotten about or didn't even know had happened!
And also just to say again thank you to Make My Day Films because you were lovely to have at the wedding and made it all seem very easy and natural. I think I like being on camera!”
-Jess, bride
We have had the pleasure of working with Make My Day Films on several occasions at our beautiful wedding venue in Kent. Simi herself takes a tremendous personal pride not only in the quality of the film produced but also in ensuring that the day is captured to perfection thereby preserving those precious memories for ever....”
-Lisa Fraser,
Fraser's Farm, 5* wedding venue
I watched the dvd - you guys are amazing!! We were very jealous that we hadn't seen or heard of your talents when we got married last year! Good work guys! We want a copy too. We got to see it on a big screen too as we were all staying in a hotel and got to use their conference room to view it. AWESOME!!!”
-Nisa, sister-in-law of a bride
We were thoroughly impressed it had a bit of everything: memorable moments from the day, brilliant editing to blend what was being said in the interviews and events through the day. You captured the emotional moments beautifully, but we also loved light-hearted aspects and you certainly brought the best (or worst) out of my nephew!
In summary, the videography was professionally shot, but it would have meant much unless it was edited so well. So, once again thank you for making the video for us we have now an excellent narrative of the day. We will be showing it to our friends and family (particularly my sister) as we wish to see their faces.”
-Chewy, groom
We are really really pleased with it....Wedding videos I have seen are typically of scenes that we don't need to see again because we were there in the first place and we had a less shaky, hand-held view of it too. Make My Day Films, you have captured a niche in the market here that is so dearly needed - I will recommend you to all our friends and neighbours because traditional wedding videos need a face lift!
Your film was a fantastic and unique way to collate our wedding memories, because it recorded some of the traditional 'must see' scenes such as the church ceremony and reception speeches but it also captured the smaller details, behind the scenes moments and interviews of key participants. Slick and choice editing made it feel like a short movie we were watching and it was thoroughly witty and entertaining.
Interviews were light-hearted, friendly and non-invasive and they will forever capture the energy and sentiments of our friends and family at that moment. The excitement and nerves before, during and after the event that made the day 'our special day.”
-Lydia, bride
Watching the DVD brought all the memories of the day flooding back in a lovely, warm wave. It gave us an opportunity to enjoy the memory of the party and delight in seeing our friends and their reactions. Having the DVD has given us something absolutely unique- a memory that will last forever. Thank you Make My Day Films!”
